“Life requires movement” (Aristotele)

The Galleria360 is delighted to welcome the new year proposing an inedited selection of contemporary artworks of international artists, with the group exhibition “New Art”. An artistic symposium, therefore, thanks to which it is possible admire a great variety of places and styles, resulting from the inexhaustible reservoir of creativity and sensitivity of artists of different nationalities.

The current artistic panorama is extremely rich, varied and in close connection with the multiple cultural and artistic stimuli that characterize our contemporaneity. In fact, in the artistic universe, the past as the present is part of a process in continuous evolution, made up of eternal returns of materials, languages and motifs; a universe, that of art, where the public dimension is constantly mixed with the personal memory of each artist, renewing itself in contents, style, form and color.

Pablo Picasso, an icon of twentieth century art, passes through a century, always remaining on the crest of the wave thanks to his ability to renew his style, to change his language. The Spanish artist in all his artistic and existential parable seems to embody perfectly the Aristotelian thought of a human condition destined to an eternal movement, through spaces and seasons of life, in a continuous succession of furloughs and new beginnings. When Pablo Picasso comes to the world on the 25th October 1881, everyone thinks he’s dead. It will be his uncle, Don Salvador, his father’s brother, to try to revive him and finally, fortunately, to save him bringing him back to life. Therefore, if one of the greatest protagonists of 20th century art “born dead”, the story of his life is instead forged in the name of an astonishing vitality, of a voracious curiosity; Picasso’s story is the story of a talent that has never been satisfied, that has always been questioned without ever ceasing to learn, grow and change.

So the leitmotif of the contemporary art exhibition “New Art” is that of an art capable not only of re-placing man at the center of creative work, but above all of renewing and regenerating itself continuously through experimentations, contaminations and new hybrids. An art that, ranging from traditional aesthetic techniques to the most innovative trends, never knows the word end, but that under the surface of its artworks is animated by a desire for continuous change and growth. For Picasso, in fact: “it never comes the time when you’ll be able to say: I worked well, and tomorrow is Sunday. As soon as you’ve done, you’ll start over again. You can put a picture aside and say that you don’t touch it anymore; but you can never write under the word end”.

The inauguration of “New Art” exhibition will take place on Friday 12th of January 2018 at 19.00, in Via il Prato 11r, Florence. During the Vernissage a welcome cocktail will be offered and jazz musicians will play live. Then, the exhibition will be open until the 6th of February 2018, during the gallery’s opening hours.
