Autumn opens at Galleria360 with a collective exhibition titled “Lost in Art”.
“Lost in Art” carries an evocative meaning that immediately immerses us in the spirit of an exhibition inviting us to lose ourselves, only to rediscover ourselves through the iconic images presented by the artists. The material aspects are transcended, leading us towards a transformative and transcendent investigation, where a subtle spirit guides us towards immanences that take us to an “other” space. Each work becomes a mirror reflecting the immaterial, which goes beyond reality; thus, the artist’s creativity becomes a versatile and restless inclination towards an inner search. Here, new horizons and scenarios open up, where once again, we can lose ourselves in a boundless terrain of thoughts and dreams. This is a place that only art can create, through its intrinsic and almost magical ability to make the invisible visible, through the evocative and cathartic beauty that the works exude.
The concept of “losing oneself in art” refers to a profound and intimate experience, where the observer is transported beyond everyday reality, entering a world of emotions, sensations, and reflections that only art can offer. To “lose oneself” in art means to let go, to set aside the limitations of the present, and immerse oneself completely in a work. This form of disorientation is liberating: a form of escape that does not alienate, but rather enriches the soul and mind.
Developing this concept can begin by recognizing how art, in its ability to reflect the human condition, offers temporary refuges that allow us to reconcile with our emotions, desires, and anxieties. To “lose oneself” in art also means losing track of time, being captivated by the allure of aesthetics, symbols, forms, and colors, and forgetting the outside world for a moment.
Here, a connection is born between artistic disorientation and the search for meaning or beauty in a complex world, which ultimately leads to a way of exploring the self, an inner journey that allows for a deeper understanding of oneself and the world.
Art thus becomes not just an aesthetic tool but also a means of exploring personal and collective depths, where, more often than not, new questions about existence arise, leading us towards new meanings rather than providing definitive answers.
The opening will take place on Friday September 11th 2024, at 7.30 pm, in via Borgo Ognissanti 77r, Florence.
