“There are painters who paint the sun like a yellow spot, but there are others that, thanks to their art and intelligence, transform a yellow spot into the sun.” (Pablo Picasso)

Today’s art is directed towards a continuous overrunning, in a ceaseless mechanism of interpretation and invention, deferment and seduction. The contemporary artists, such as those of the exhibition “Languages of Art”, to decipher a period so complex and equivocal as the current one, are equipped with a capacity of observation out of the ordinary and, above all, are opened up to a cultural syncretism, namely to a contamination of different cultures and languages.

TINA TOBIASSEN is a Norwegian artist. In the painter’s artworks realistic trends seem to palpate strongly within ineffable atmospheres, weightless and fleeting like a dream. We remain astonished and silent in front of a painting that combines the magic of color with the poetics of the moment.

HOWARD HARRIS is an artist originally from Denver. Equipped with an extraordinary imaginative grandeur, Harris combines technology and aesthetics with the aim of expanding the visual experience of photographic art to explore the limits of human vision and venture into new perceptive experiences.

SANDRA NITCHIE is the original author of artworks where Mexican popular art meets the complex theme of the nature of personal identity. In fact, the reference to La Catrina, the Mexican symbol linked to the celebrations of the “El Día de los Muertos” is constant in the chromatic vivacity and in the ornaments of the masks worn by famous icons of the show biz world.

SARA TWOMEY lives and works in England. After a debut linked to the suggestions of a realistic painting, the artist gradually abandons the certainties of a rigidly constrained art and overcomes the viscosity of the real world limitations by entrusting her own feeling to an abstract painting.

Dismissing both nostalgic elegies of a past ever more decomposed, that the rigidity of an “official” and exclusive method that as warned Baudelaire, “forces to a perpetual abjuration”, the artists of “Languages of Art”, treasure of this diversity, giving life to a creative symposium able to touch the deepest chords of the human soul.

The inauguration will take place on 3oth Thursday of May  2019, at 19.00, in Via il Prato 11r, Florence. During the opening will also be offered a welcome drink while Jazz musicians will play live animating the evening and creating a pleasant union between Art and Music.
