Michèle Vert-Nibet was born, lives and works in Perthus, the Spanish border between Perpignan and Barcelona. Draws and paints from an early age.
First exhibition was in 1973 in Céret (PO), organized by the painter Felip Vila. GHGourrier has spoken of her very personal style, calling it “Poetic Realism”.
Often meets Salvador Dali and during his journey several personalities like Rafael Santos-Torroella, Claude Massé, Jean-Marie Drot, Christian Delacampagne who encourage him and support his approach. A friendship binds her to the poet François CHENG. Attentive to its environment, Michèle Vert-Nibet is also attracted by the diversion of objects (carburetors, engine parts, etc.)
Publishes numerous collections of poetry, limited edition art books with original work. We find in these texts the reflection of its environment, the massif of Albères, the bay of Cadaqués, as well as the permanence of the three cultures, Catalan, French and Spanish in which Michèle Vert-Nibet has always bathed. Realizes an important work on the forest and the trees, with several series of stampings of which some will illustrate the book “Peau d’arbres” published by Art-Concorde (Paris).
Socially committed, Michèle Vert-Nibet was elected mayor of Perthus for four terms, two as deputy and two as mayor.
Currently, Honorary Mayor of Perthus. During his mandates, ensured the opening to the public of the Fort de Bellegarde (PO), curating more than forty exhibitions.
