Biografia:

ho affrontato il tema della vita urbana da quando mi sono laureata alla Gray’s School nel 1999 con un BA (Hons) in Pittura, per poi conseguire un Diploma post-laurea/Master in Arte e Design nel 2000. La mia passione per l’arte urbana è nata durante il mio primo viaggio ad Amsterdam nel 2012. Nel quartiere della Spuistraat, sede di una comunità di creativi, ho scattato innumerevoli foto di edifici decadenti e graffiti, recandomi lì quasi ogni anno per rinnovare il mio repertorio. Ciò che mi attraeva era la natura estemporanea e transitoria della street art così come il suo multiculturalismo, poiché molti artisti venivano da fuori paese per realizzare murales.
La mia serie di dipinti di maschere tribali con bombolette spray è stata ispirata da un seminario che ho condotto nella mia città natale, Aberdeen, durante il quale ho dipinto su vecchie bombolette spray. La suite è una serie esotica e lussureggiante di maschere tribali che incorporano elementi delle tradizioni africane, asiatiche e sudamericane. Le maschere sono raffigurate su bombolette spray e circondate da rigogliosi motivi di piante e animali. La serie ha una spiccata atmosfera metropolitana e celebra la diversità attraverso un messaggio di unità: siamo una specie e una tribù.
Ho esposto il mio lavoro ampiamente nel Regno Unito, in tutta Europa e nel Nord America.
Nel 2019 questi dipinti si sono trasformati nel mio marchio di t-shirt urbane unisex Tribe All.
Come designer, ho partecipato alle settimane della moda di Aberdeen e Milano. Le mie opere d’arte sono apparse in pubblicazioni come Elle Decor, Red Magazine e House & Garden. Le mie magliette sono apparse su Red, GQ, Wired, London Life, Harper’s Bazaar, Esquire, Elle, Cosmopolitan e Vogue. Il marchio è stato promosso anche agli Urban Music Awards nel 2020 e nel 2022. I primi National Social Media Awards nel 2021 a Londra e all’Event Savo’ che ha aperto la settimana della moda di Milano nel settembre 2022, dove Tribe All è stato presentato come “Nuovo Talento”.
