DESCRIPTION:I love dance very much. It’s an extraordinary thing: life and rhythm.” \n(Henri Matisse) \nSave the date! After the summer break\, Galleria360 awaits you for an unmissable contemporary art event with the collective exhibition “Rhythms of emotions”.\nThe opening night will take place on Thursday 7th September 2023 at 7.30 pm in via Borgo Ognissanti 77r\, Florence.\nDuring the opening night a welcome drink will be offered while Jazz musicians will play live. \n«The first element of the construction was rhythm\, the second a vast dark blue surface (an allusion to the Mediterranean sky in the month of August); the third a dark green (the green of Mediterranean pines). Starting from these elements\, the characters could only be red\, to obtain a luminous accord». \nWith these words Henri Matisse describes the second version\, the one exposed at the Hermitage in St. Petersburg\, of his famous painting “The Dance” of 1910. \nIn its simplicity\, Matisse’s “The Dance” manages to evoke strong sensations. The dynamic and naked bodies of five figures dance in a circle silhouetted standing out an ultramarine blue sky that meets the intense green of the top of a hilly landscape. The movements\, natural and fluid\, immersed in an idealized environment\, express a syntonic relationship with Nature. In fact\, dance strips itself of its spectacular dimension\, evoking\, in the contracted bodies of the dancers\, a primordial vitality that transcends singularity\, to give voice to the chorus. \nAlthough the judgment of the critics\, who during the exhibition at the Salon d’Automne in 1910 defined the artwork as a “demonic cacophony”\, was merciless\, it already highlighted the main characteristic of the painting: the rhythm. A frenetic rhythm\, messy but pervaded by an ancestral force that is charged with intensity in the bright colors of pure and saturated tones of the Fauve brushstrokes. In the famous painting\, therefore\, Henri Matisse\, through the incisiveness of color and emotions\, overwhelms the viewer with the disruptive force of life\, dragging him into the “circle” of an irrepressible and joyful dance. \nEven the artists of the contemporary art exhibition “Rhythms of emotions” are in tune with the pulsating and deepest soul of the universe; abandoning language codes or pre-established models\, these artists turn their attention to the “feeling” of that inner music\, of those harmonic and sound vibrations of life\, which through art become visible in the emotional impact they arouse. “Rhythms of emotions” is therefore an artistic review where art\, guided by the rhythm of emotions\, penetrates the invisible movements that govern the soul and the world. \nVirginia Bazzechi Ganucci Cancellieri
