"The profound truth, to do everything, to write, to paint, lies in simplicity. Life is profound in its simplicity. " ( C. Bukowski, "Hollywood, Hollywood" )
The current relationship between contemporary art and the wider public increasingly looks more like a complex love story that unfolds through thick and thin and sudden coups de théâtre.
In fact, the contemporary expositive panorama in the last decades has changed quickly its connotations outlining new and unedited artistic geographies. This transformation is intertwined with historical, social, political and economic events. Today the extraordinary mobility of people, the ease and immediacy of communication, thanks to the digital revolution, and the increasing globalization, has led to the creation of a meeting and clash, between different cultures and languages, transforming the art world in a kind of intricate Babel, in which it is easy to become disoriented.
So in a society, basically dominated by the search for spectacularization and artificiality, knelt under the aegis of false idols such as the appearance, and mesmerized by the rivers, of prolix, emphasized and redundant words, ever stronger is the need to rediscover the forgotten virtues of simplicity.
The architect Riccardo Piagentini and Art Director Angela Fagu, therefore open up the artistic season of the new year 2017 at the Galleria360, with an interesting exhibition that develops and offers reflections on such complex and topical issues.
In fact “New Art" is a contemporary art exhibition that proposes and compares the artworks of international artists who have enriched their own personal experience with an intercultural perspective, showing at the same time the uniqueness of their ideas and styles, through a return to the purity and simplicity of the artistic expression.
The exhibition opening will be on January 13th, 2017 at 19.00 at the Galleria360, Via Il Prato 11r, Florence. During the Vernissage it also will be offered a welcome cocktail while Jazz musicians play live.
Exhibitions, such as "New Art", therefore have the great merit of showing at least a piece of this teeming and varied artistic world; but it also offers a new artistic proposal, a new art; namely an art, which refers to itself and whose greatness lies in its simplicity, uniqueness and truth. For just as advocated by the known French playwright George Sand: "Simplicity is the hardest thing to achieve in this world; it is the extreme limit of the experience and the last effort of genius ".
